Many things cross across the way, and I just get attached to few. Here is one more such happened yesterday giving an insight on Sincerity, Self Confidence and Courage.
Just went to Kukatpally for some work, after I completed my work…stood in the Bus stop for a while…On one side, not getting a sharing auto to my place and on the other all the buses filled in till the door including AC one’s. Was just waiting and finally could get a bus that’s better to go with. Got a seat and was on the way to my home. Passengers were getting up and down and my journey continuing, in between found a group of 3 galz chatting continuously and making non-sense. Probably they are of Intermediate but the way they behaved, failed to show their grown up age. Literally they did not know the way how to behave in Public especially in RTC buses. Pity them and their parents. Leaving that on a lighter side, what I wanted to talk is about a Old Man who got into the bus after a while. I didn’t even notice him. Was just listening to Songs and watching the roads from the Window beside.
The seat side to me got empty and the 3 other galz did not step in for a seat meanwhile someone sat facing their back to me, that’s this old man. I still continued with my ear phones, and Conductor came to him for the ticket. I didn’t knew what was happening but could feel that there was some discussion going on, took out my ear phones and gave a look on what’s happening. Then I could get that, the old man is handicapped with both hands till Wrist only. As part of the benefits provided to Handicapped, it seems like they must be half charged for using the bus facility. Having showed his pass, he gave the remaining half amount to the conductor for the ticket. But the Conductor was not agreeing because this rule is not applicable to AC buses. He got the confirmation from his fellowmates and replied to the Old man saying it is not applicable in AC bus so was asking to pay the full amount. The Old Man within a minute took back the given money from conductor and said that he would get out in the next stop. Saying that he just left the seat and went forward to get down soon.
My mind was receiving reminders and I was just giving it a rethink, bus was moving very fast and was about to reach the next stop. I suddently went forward and said “ Thatha, vachi kurcho, nenu istanu” then he was like “ Ledamma nenu digali digutanu”…then I continued saying..”Ippudu digi malli em ekkutav”..then he said..”Nenu Digutanu..Em parledhu”...I smiled and returned back to my seat. He was standing strong on his words with good confidence not even giving a though will it be difficult to get down and get into another one, or will I be able to catch a normal bus now. What a person, though he is handicapped, the confidence, sincerity and courage put forward was simply mind blowing. Such must have happened in our day to day life with many. They are the little things which mean a lot. Wish that the old man continue to make his life happy and meaningful with his confidence. God Bless you Thathaji.
